Recipe, Serving – 2 persons

Chai (Tea) is one of the primary drinks of every home, with their own proportions. The aroma of Chai will surround your house & fill your heart with so much warmth.

For a delightful cup of Chai, gather the following::

  • 2 teaspoons black tea leaves
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1-inch piece of fresh ginger, peeled and grated
  • 2 green cardamom pods, crushed
  • 2 cloves, crushed  (optional)
  • 1 cinnamon stick  (optional)
  • Sugar or sweetener (optional)

Equipment Needed:

  • Small saucepan or pot
  • Fine-mesh strainer or tea infuser
  • Teapot or mugs

Recipe

  • Peel and grate a 1-inch piece of fresh ginger. Crush 2 green cardamom pods and 2 cloves to release their aromatic flavor.
  • In a small saucepan, bring 1 cup of water to a boil. Add 2 teaspoons of black tea leaves. Allow it to simmer for 2-3 minutes to extract the flavor.
  • Add the grated ginger, crushed cardamom pods, cloves, and a cinnamon stick to the simmering tea. Allow the mixture to infuse for an additional 3-4 minutes for a fragrant aroma.
  • Pour 1 cup of milk into the saucepan. This adds creaminess and richness to the Chai. Adjust the milk-to-tea ratio to your preference.
  • If you prefer a sweeter Chai, add sugar or your preferred sweetener to taste. Stir until it’s completely dissolved.
  • Use a fine-mesh strainer or a tea infuser to strain the Chai into a teapot or directly into mugs. This will remove the tea leaves and spices, leaving you with a smooth, aromatic brew.
